I obtained these fragments during a trip to Mexico in 1967. The two largest are 2 1/2" X 2 1/2". One is 3" wide. Zapotec civilization was a pre Columbian cilvilization that lived in the Vally of Oaxaca of Southern Mesoamerica. This culture dates back 2500 years and have left archaeological evidence such as buildings, ball courts, magnificent tombs and grave goods which included gold jewelry. These evidences are of the ancient city of Monte Alban, which was one the first major city in Mesoamerica.
